And even more applications

A couple more of my show apps have come out and I have submitted them. I have a updated my show listing up on my website on the Events page- shows I have applied to but have not heard back from yet are marked as tentative.

More applications

Applied to two more shows in the past couple weeks- the August Lakewood fine arts show and the Cain Park show in July. Lakewood has turned me down 3 or 4 years straight, and I have never applied to Cain Park before- it is single-medium only which is a little different for me. Will see how things go... :)

A couple more apps I have been looking for haven't come out yet, so I have a couple to go yet before I am done for the year. And it looks like the fall Crocker Park show from the Michigan Guild may not be happening this year since they have no advertistement or application for it up? Maybe the cold weather from last year's show talked them out of having it again? A little disappointed since I had done well there the year before...

GAP membership

I re-submitted membership to the Guild of American Papercutters today. I was a member a number of years ago, but I had let my membership lapse until now. I think the guild is a great idea, since most people aren't familiar with papercutting as an art form.
They are also involved with a new papercutting museum opening in Somerset PA that I hope to make it out to at some point..

Applications to fill out..

Apps are coming for next year's shows. I just completed the apps for Crocker Park in June and the Levi's Commons Guild show in Toledo in August. Thankfully they are online, so I don't have to deal with stamps and slides..

Holiday wishes

My last show of the year is over. Now I get to settle in for a winter of carving so I can rebuild my ornament and cottonwood sculpture inventory. Most of my 'new ideas' sold really well or sold out entirely, so look for more carved mirrors, cottonwood houses, and angel ornaments coming next year. Plus some more abstract papercuttings, and maybe some seasonal cards- I started doodling a Christmas tree that I am fairly hapy with.. :)

I especially want to thank all my regular and new customers for coming out to the shows and suppporting my work this year- buying local AND supporting the arts! Here's wishing a happy and healthy holiday season to all!!!
