I finally managed to get my paper sculpture piece done! It is a black fan mounted on white. Each panel of the fan is cut with an x-acto knife into an intricate and unique mosaic design. The panels were all cut freehand with no sketching. I triple-matted the piece and mounted it in a shadowbox black metal frame.

Puli papercutting finished!!
Finally got this one completed- it took forever to cut, but I am really happy with the way it turned out! Trying to capture the 'dreadlock' coat texture rather than the typical textures I usually deal with was a bit of a challenge.. What do you think? Does this capture the essence of a Puli for you?

'Scattered' ACEO papercutting finished
This abstract design had a feel to it that reminded me of the way my mind typically works- particularly on a busy day- with thoughts and ideas shooting off in multiple directions at once. I'm sure many people can relate to that feeling! :)

Ann Arbor Summer Art Fair
Despite earlier getting a message from the application system that my application for Ann Arbor had been declined, today I got called off the waitlist. So I will be visiting Michigan again this July! My booth is on State Street again, similar area to last year but on the opposite side of the street outside Angell Hall. Hope to see you there!
New ACEO papercutting- Butterfly
In line with my 'Fan' ACEO, here is another new pattern I just finished. Cut from black paper, mounted on backer board..

New Mosaic Fan paper sculpture in progress
Started work on a new black paper paper sculpture. This will probably
be a fan when I am done cutting it- that was the original plan at any
rate. There are 16-17 panels to cut, each panel is about 1/2 inch wide
by 4 inches long and is unique, designed as I go along and cut
freehand. I am really happy with how the piece is looking so far-
almost wishing I had the tools and talent to do large-scale metalwork,
since I think this concept would make a really cool fireplace screen
too!
Behance portfolio
I started a new portfolio on a website called Behance- a resource for people in creative fields. Check it out if you get a chance!
