First cut- new Giraffe papercutting

Finished cutting the first giraffe from a new pattern I drew a while back- trying to catch up since I am currently out of giraffes and I have another show in two weeks!  I also have an idea for a larger full giraffe body that would need a custom matting and framing job, but I have to make it through the next couple weeks restocking frenzy first!  :)

2013 Boston Mills I

The Boston Mills art fair is over!  It was a great weekend- weather was in the 70s and we kept escaping real rain by the skin of our teeth.  It was a good weekend for me, sold a couple of my large 'eye-catching' pieces, so I have to scramble to come up with some new inventory in the next two weeks before I head to Michigan for the Ann Arbor art fair.  Met a lot of artists I whose work I hadn't seen before, had a couple great neighbors, and met a lot of great customers too.  My first time really taking advantage of having a corner space, and I think it worked out pretty well for me!

New Shetland Sheepdog papercutting finished!

Newish Sheltie pattern, first cut (edition 1/2).  Finally trying to get caught up on some of my backlog.

'Rapunzel' finished!

Rapunzel is a triple- layered piece.  First I cut the stone wall out of olive green cardstock, and saved the edging pieces.  Next I cut onionskin paper to fit the outlines of the stone wall and attached it over the wall piece.  Finally I cut the hair tresses out of blank linen paper. The piece is triple-matted to external 16" x 20" measurement with an 8-ply white mat and a double 4-ply matting in light and darker yellow-cream.  It is available online unframed, and in person as either a framed or unframed piece.
