Ann Arbor Recap

So another year's Ann Arbor Art Fair is done.  The weather was truly amazing for mid-July- 60's and 70's the whole week with only a tiny bit of sprinkles here and there.  We truly could not have asked for better weather for an outdoor art fair!

I had great neighbors as usual this year, some new folks and some familiar faces.  It was great to catch up with the artists I know from previous years and from other shows.  And as usual the Guild staff and volunteers did a spectacular job at helping out and organizing a huge and frenetic event to be almost sane.  :)

A lot of my new work was flying off the walls, so I am fairly light on my stylized/abstract work and my sculptures right now.  I will be hustling over the next 3 weeks to get some of the holes filled up before the Levis Commons art fair in Toledo in August- my next show.

Last but certainly not least, I was thrilled and honored to be the recipient of an award at Ann Arbor this year- the second place ribbon.  The fact that the judge placed my work that high in a crowd of about 350 other amazing artists..  I am speechless.  Mostly.  ;)  I was thinking of starting as 'Awards' page on my site like a lot of other artists seem to have, but I figured if I did that, this will be the last award I will ever get and it will sit on the page all lonely till the end of time.  So I will hold off for now  :)
