My sleeping greyhound cutting is on its last edition, so time to draw up a new greyhound piece! The short-haired dogs are always the tricky ones..

Koala and Pharaoh hound patterns
Usually when I would go to the koala house at the zoo the koalas would always be asleep with their heads tucked away so I couldn't even see their faces. But one cool fall day, I had the koala house almost to myself (there was one zoo volunteer there, but otherwise it was empty). And the koala decided to wake from his nap, move around, and pose repeatedly for me for about 15 minutes. I must have taken 50 pictures of him during that time! My 'Eucalyptus' limited piece came from this photo sessions, as did the previous small koala pattern that is on it's 3rd edition now. So time to make a new one! I am really happy with the way this guy turned out for me..
And this Pharaoh hound was at the IX Center dog show in 2005 or 2006. She was in the 'Meet the Breeds' ring, and looked like she had had a REALLY long day! I thought the way she was stretched out accented the long-drawn elegant lines that define this breed and all the sight-hounds..

Crocker Park art show
I got so lucky this weekend- the weather was PERFECT for the show!! Sunny, warm, with a little bit of a breeze so it didn't get too warm. I also love the Crocker Park area for show because it is well lit, nicely set up, and of course there are always tons of dogs wandering around too.
I got to meet a lot of great people, and my work seemed to find an appreciative audience. Thanks to all my customers, and to all the folks who stopped by to look at my work!
I was really kicking myself for not bringing my camera along- first of all because I have no pictures of my new setup in practical action, and secondly because I kept seeing dogs I wanted to photograph!! I met a Havanese there, and two little Coton de Tulear- a breed I had heard of but had never met. They were adorable, soft and fluffy, and incredibly friendly. There owners were also very tolerant of me swooping down on their dogs and asking lots of questions.. :) I also got Cavi love and kisses from two really cute little Cavaliers. Lots of other puppies too- too many to mention..

Upcoming event- Crocker Park fall art show
This coming weekend (October 11th and 12th) I will be at my last outdoor show for the year at the Crocker Park shopping complex in Westlake, OH. The show runs 10 AM to 9 PM Saturday and 11 AM to 6 PM Sunday, admission and parking are free. The show includes a wine tasting, a farmers' market, a clambake, and other activities in addition to the artists. Hopefully the weather will be great fall days, so if you are local come on out and enjoy some of the last decent Cleveland weather before we get locked in by snow and wind for 4-5 months! :)
