The new online store and website is starting to take shape! Finished most of the background refinements and got all my art card/miniature inventory listed today. Tomorrow I am hoping for small wood carvings, and maybe some cottonwood. Then the next couple days for the matted 8 x 10 pieces. I am still thinking I might be able to go live by this weekend, but I’m definitely hoping next weekend at the latest. Stay tuned! This is a bit of a scary step for me, since I have been counting on Etsy to drive traffic to my work (even though they hadn’t been doing much good lately). This website will be completely self-driven, so it is a bit of leap of faith. It probably means I will have to try to do a lot more shows and promotion next year to get the word out. I have been using @flexcut_tools carving knives and gouges for woodcarving for years now and they have always been fantastic for me. Beautifully sharp right out of the box, the blades are strong and hold their edge forever, and the handles are the perfect size and shape to work for hours without fatigue. And now I can tell you about their fantastic customer service too! A knife I just picked up had some irregularities with the blade and handle join which made it really uncomfortable to use. I sent their customer service a message, and within a week they had sent me a replacement knife with no hassle or issues at all. There aren’t many companies out there whose customer service is this much on point. Looks like some of my hardwood ornament carvings will be in the Heart and Soul exhibit at the #logcabingallery starting in November! stay tuned for more info on dates and times. I am trying to get a bit more work in on some of my slightly different pieces, though I don’t know if they will be done in time since I am fighting with a thumb tendon injury that doesn’t seem to want to get better.
